One of the super cities of the world and perhaps the largest planned city ever Navi Mumbai is the twin city of Mumbai It was built in 1972 for the main purpose of unclogging Mumbai. However this cosmopolitan city has matched Mumbai in most aspect and is fast picking up on the business sector as well with new IT companies being set up there. Navi Mumbai lies on the mainland by the Thane Creek. The twin cities are separated by the Arabian Sea and people travel between them using the Airoli Bridge in the north and Vashi Bridge further down south. It claims to be a no slums city and is sparsely populated as compared to Mumbai. This beautiful city lies between the Sahyadri mountains the sea coast and the Thane creek and has many interesting places to see. Navi Mumbai is a part of the Mumbai Conurbation. NMMC is also rated amongst the richest corporations in Asia.
