JJawhar is a hill station located at an altitude of 518m. It is about 80 kms from Nashik and 180 kms away from Mumbai. Situated in the Thane district Jawhar is known for its picturesque setting and a vibrant cultural heritage. It is one of the very few tribal kingdoms in Maharashtra and is famous for its vibrant Warli paintings that are a characteristic landmark of this place. Besides exploring the hill station and the many view points like Hanuman and Sunset points one can also see the majestic Dadara Kopra Falls. Warli paintings paintings were traditionally made of rice paste and were used to decorate village huts.
