Chikhaldhara is the only hill station in the Vidarbha region located in the Amravati Disttrict. It is situated at a height of 1118 m and offers plenty wildlife lovely lakes and waterfalls. It is located in cotton growing area also a Historical valued place where Lord Krishna carried away Rukminee. It is the only coffee growing area of Maharashtra. According to legends Chikaldhara is named after the demon Keechaka who was killed by the Pandava hero Bhima. Since then this place was called Keechakadara. Over time this came to be known as Chikhaldara. One of the most attractive things here are the different viewpoints in the town which offer stunning views of the peaks and valleys including sunset views.
