Boisar is located 45 kilometres (28 mi) north of Virar on the Wenstern Railway line of Mumbai Suburban Railway To reach Boisar one can catch Shuttle/MEMU trains from Virar. By Road it can be reached from National Highway NH-8 22 kilometres (14 mi) off from Chilhar Phata. There are regular state transport buses from Palghar Thane Bhiwandi and Wada. One of the biggest corporate house in steel and power sector Jsw Steel Limited with 30MW power plant and 0.5MTPA of finished steel products. The plant is located in the heart of Boisar. Tarapur Atomic power plant is also nearby.
