Amla is a city and a municipality in Betul district in the state of Madhya Pradesh India. Amla contains a rail junction served by broad gauge lines connecting Amla to Itarsi to the north Nagpur to the southeast and Chhindwara to the east. In History this place was used by british army to store there Ammunition and so called Ammunition Land in abbreviation form it started calling Amla. It is famous for the Indian Air Force Depot where bombs and missiles are stored. Earlier Amla Railway station was used as a base kitchen for catering in 1989; the base kitchen was shifted to Itarsi. Famous markets are - Bodkhi Amla Town etc.
