Situated in the northern part of Goa just around 13 km from the capital city of Panaji Sinquerim is one of the states oldest and best-preserved beaches. The beach extends in an uninterrupted stretch from the famous Fort Aguda up to the Baga Beach in the north. Quieter than the other beaches in the area and set against a backdrop of lush greenery and dense palm tree groves Sinquerim is known for its tranquil beauty and is an idyllic setting for long romantic walks and leisurely swims. The beach is also perfectly located for exploring the many other beaches that can be found both to its north and south. The Shri Vithal Temple is yet another of the famous temples located in Sanquelim. This temple is dedicated to Lord Vithal an incarnation of Lord Vishnu and originates back to 1942 AD. The main festivities of the temple is usually held for 9 days during the Ashadi Ekadashi and Kartik Ekadashi the principal festival dedicated to Lord Vithal.
