Located about 32-km northwest of Mapusa. The beach attracts many international tourists mainly during the winter season between December and February. Arambol has a distinct bohemian feel which is no longer found in areas such as Calangute and this inevitably attracts many hippie travellers. The main beach is good for swimming. Its popularity also stems from the fact that it has both rocks and sand along its beach. The Old Portuguese Terekhol fort is another attraction for visitors. It lies on the opposite bank and one can use a ferry to visit the fort. Another popular activity is a trip to the freshwater lake which extends along the bottom of the valley into the jungle and is a good place for picnics.
