Achanakmar Tiger Reserve is situated in Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh at north west between the Maikal Ranges of Satpura hills. The sanctuary is very rich in fauna.
Although there is no perennial water source in the sanctuary but the Maniyari river a life line flowing zig-zag through the area provides ample water to the wild animals and human population. Achanakmar is a nature made heaven for wild life.

By Roadways: From Bilaspur the park is around 56 kms and from Amarkantak it is 21 kms. It can also be approach from Bandhavgarh
(225 kms) & Kanha Mukki Gate (230 kms).
